You see the images everywhere in San Antonio – now discover the meaning behind the memorable pictures. On Thursday, November 1st, Cristina Sosa Noriega will present the story of how she developed her popular My Lotería symbols, and explain their significance and their emotional resonance to Latinos of Mexican decent.
The presentation will be held in conjunction with the SaySí Muertitos Fest and Dead Artists Society fundraiser, held at the SaySí studios on South Alamo at Probandt, just south of the Blue Star Complex.
A cocktail reception will start at 4:45, followed by Cristina’s presentation at 5:00. In addition to explaining the significance of these icons, Cristina will share insights into their marketing and commercialization - getting them onto products and into the marketplace. Then she will teach attendees how to play My Lotería, the traditional Mexican family board game.
